About this strategy
Holds the S&P 500 and, on the weekends a franchise tentpole opens, moves part of the book into the theater chains, selling at the first session after the box office numbers are in.
How it works
- Agent triggers
Triggered daily at 3:30 PM. It runs each time a franchise tentpole movie opens over the weekend.
- Computes its signals
It reads the movie release schedule, focusing on films with prior openings over seventy million dollars. It decides when to shift from the S&P 500 ETF to theater chains based on these openings.
- Sets the target portfolio
The target portfolio consists of a mix where up to 40 percent is allocated to theater chains. This includes specific percentages for IMAX, Cinemark, and AMC, while the remainder stays in the S&P 500 ETF.
- Executes orders
Your account trades toward that target mix, selling theater chain shares before buying new positions, inside the platform's risk rails: stop-loss and daily loss limits you control.
